Hi, I’m Sam.
I’m the founder of Steady Bloom, a practice built on the belief that even in life’s most difficult seasons, growth is possible.
Before becoming a therapist, I worked as a first responder and later in the corporate world. Like many people, I believed that the next achievement, promotion, or opportunity would finally bring the sense of fulfillment I was searching for. I kept working harder, pushing through, and focusing on what came next. From the outside, it looked like I was doing well. On the inside, I slowly realized I was losing touch with myself.
Seeking therapy became one of the most meaningful decisions I made. It gave me the space to slow down, reconnect with myself, and begin asking questions I had never stopped to consider. I came to understand that many of the beliefs and coping strategies I had developed made sense in the context of my experiences — they weren’t character flaws. But insight was only part of the journey. I also needed practical tools, healthier boundaries, and new ways of responding that allowed me to move through life differently.
“I don’t believe people need to be fixed.”
Those experiences continue to shape the therapist I am today. I believe we are all doing the best we can with the experiences, circumstances, and coping strategies we have at this moment.
One of my favourite parts of therapy is helping people connect the dots. Together, we’ll explore how your experiences, relationships, and beliefs may be influencing the way you think, feel, and respond today. Understanding yourself isn’t the end goal of therapy — it’s what gives you the freedom to choose a different path. Along the way, we’ll develop practical tools and strategies to help you navigate life’s challenges with greater confidence, self-compassion, and intention.
I created Steady Bloom for people who have spent so much of their lives taking care of others, meeting expectations, or simply pushing through, that they’ve lost touch with themselves along the way. My hope is that therapy offers you the opportunity to pause, reconnect with what matters most, and begin building a life that feels more intentional, balanced, and authentic.
My work is informed by Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), mindfulness-based approaches, and person-centred therapy. Rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach, I tailor therapy to your goals, strengths, and unique experiences.
